Why is it that there seems to be no market standard for digital prints, and why is it that photolabs seem to charge more for digital prints than for film prints. Some companies like Futureshop and Bestbuy have caught on it seems, but others - like the Loblaws Photolab are still charging the equivalent of traditional film prints.
Here’s my roundup of digital prints for regular 4×6 prints of your digital photos. If you have rates from other places you get your photos printed, it would be great if you could share them. Just leave a comment below. Costco seems to be leading the pack at 18 cents, but thats on top of you already having paid a membership fee, and I’m not sure what kind of photo paper they use, though i’ve seen prints and they look good to me.
Futureshop makes the claim that their Kodak Royal Generations paper is what makes them almost ten cents better than "supermarket" prints, but the majority of them use Kodak paper, so the differences are likely just a heavier print. It would be interesting to see if other cheaper printers use the same paper.

Maybe I’m a little late in digging this up, but if you haven’t watched the Ultimate Showdown yet, it had me laughing pretty hard.
