We ordered some t-shirts for SensNation.com to use in promotions and to sell rather than rely on donations, and surprisingly, the cheapest and best quality place I could find was still Reaction Sportswear, where I’ve had shirts made for the last 4 years while at Trent. Every screen printer in Ottawa came in with quotes at least several dollars over that of Reaction. The problem being that of picking up the shirts. I have friends regularly travelling between Peterborough and Ottawa, and several offered to pick them up for us, so when they were going to bus it to Ottawa last week, they offered to bring the shirts along, but couldn’t get them before Reaction closed. This meant having someone else pick them up and drop them off at the bus station. All fine and dandy, until there was no bus running, they had misread the schedule.
They still had to get to Ottawa, and were going to take the train the next morning, but with that costing at least $75, it was almost worth it to drive there and back. So we drove to Peterborough, picked up the shirts from the friends that had picked them up (thanks Lauren + Anthony!) and headed to Bowmanville and back. The drive seemed to take forever, although the iPod provided screening of Evolution was a welcome treat in full stereo sound over the fm transmitter. Six hours later, we arrived home at about 2:30am with a box of (still warm) t-shirts, ready for the best online Sens Fan community, this side of the canal. If you’re interested in one, details will be posted soon. Ladies fitted tees as well.
